They underestimate how many people use "Robinhood men in tights" for their understanding of the stories "common" themes

Anyone of stature knows that "Men in Tights" is the most accurate portrayal

This is gonna sound so wrong but I use your videos to get to sleep 😂😂😂. I also listen when I'm awake but your voices are so soothing.

and what makes you think they'll listen to you? ..... "unlike some other "robin hoods" I can speak with an English accent."

I started shooting a bow this year. It's safe to say if I was robinhood the rich would have stayed rich

There was, briefly, a Prince of Thieves breakfast cereal. I stole a box, because I was homeless at the time, and it just felt right.

My first exposure to Robin Hood and what I find to be the most accurate portrayal of the story was Disney’s Robin Hood. Reminds us me of medieval times when animals could talk.

Honestly the earliest narratives where Robin Hood is just a huge prick who may have some generosity is the most interesting version of the character

I'm 66. I live in Maine. The wonderful 1995 to 1960 TV series, "The Adventures of Robin Hood", starring Richard Greene in the lead role, was how I first became familiar with the character. I would guess that would be the case with a lot of my generation on both sides of the pond (it was a British production, I think). Many, if not all, the episodes are available on YouTube and I recommend them as charming and old fashioned entertainments. Greene makes quite a stalwart and likeable Robin.

I looked up "Eustace Monk" after watching this video and found that he was in fact called Eustace THE Monk, because he allegedly was a Monk at one point in his life. His actual surname was Busket.

So English that you begin this video with literally 3 1/2 minutes of apologies! 😂

In many tales Robin was a champion to the underlings, underclasses, under dogs, lower classes, less fortunate, and Anglo Saxons yeah

I moved from Dark Souls lore videos to watch before sleep to 40k lore videos and now to real world lore videos. Thanks for your work

The middle English comment amuses me, because the way I was taught is that "Shakespeare is not middle English. It is barely early modern English."

One reason why The Geste of Robin Hood is set in the period of a King Edward is the fact that Robin is a skilled archer, and the Assize of Arms of 1252 required all Yeomen to be practised in the use of the bow.

I loved Robin hood: prince of thieves. It has some flaws, but is a fun watch.

Thank you for talking about the legends of Robin Hood. Blessed be, Herne the Hunter.

Love Crofty, his voice is so soothing to listen too

A generation learnt their Robin hood from the Richard Greene half hour B&W TV series in the 1950s. Along with William Tell and Ivanhoe. They were the UK's answer to the western, and were repeated many times over the years.
