Glorious...that lyric  "to them it's a council house, to me it's a home"...will hit home for so many...go on my son.

imagine taking your girl out for dinner and then sam fender decides to style it out infront of you

Lovely. The girl with tears in her eyes, and the fella in thhe background who just keeps on talking. What some are too sensitive to ignore, others can't even hear. But its a beauty alright, rare talent.

Last song on the new album. Could not end an album on a better note. Cannot wait. What a song.

Sam Fender is a gift to the world of music. Everytime I feel weighed down or depressed about society's obsession with mediocrity , laziness and being famous for being famous, he delivers a masterpiece like this and...suddenly, its like a breath of fresh air. Inspires me that all is not lost and that dedication, commitment and sincerity can still triumph in the end. Thank you Sam!

Dead silence. This guy is a blessing in a dark world.  What a light. Breathtaking.

love the way a good voice quiets a room.

I just love how the audience just slowly stop talking just to sit and listen to him sing, truly amazing! Sam fender massively deserves this appreciation! ❤

Such a beautiful voice, wonderful song. Those people were so blessed to have experienced this talented guy's  impromptu performance. Just beautiful!!!!!

Sam Fender will become another legend of the British music scene. A multi talented artist who is born to do it. And again, a Geordie and British.

god he’s talented

Sam along with Olivia Dean just a breath of fresh air in the music world. Sam is a very talented gifted guy and this is excellent.. what a beautiful surprise for the customers

Lyrics:

If I was wanting of any more
I'd be as greedy as those men on their own
But I remain forlorn
In the memory of what once was
Chasing a crossing from the well
Our boy's a whippet, he's faster than anything
Remember the pride that we felt?
For, the two of us made him ourselves

Humour me
Make my day
I'll tell you stories
I'll kiss your face
And I'll pray you'll remember my name

I'm not sure of what awaits
I was never a fan of Saint Peter and his gates
But, by God, I pray
That I'll see you in some way
Oh, 11 Wark Avenue
Something to behold
To them, it's a council house
To me, it's a home
And a home that you made
Where the grandkids could play
But it's never the same without you

So, humour me
Make my day
I'll tell you stories
I'll kiss your face
And I'll pray you'll remember my name

And I'll pray you'll remember my name
And I'll pray you'll remember our name.

Wow.

The same year this came out I lost my great gran and my grandfather is the space of a few months, Knowing this song will be on  the new album is gonna be the song I listen to none stop

Love the line at the end "Go on, son"

I personally think it’s about his Nan who maybe suffered with dementia. Got tears in my eyes. This lad writes songs like no other. Can’t stop listening to it x

Honestly cannot believe the negative comments on here.

A guy singing a beautiful song about his Grandparents in a way that touches the masses, deserves nothing but respect

This video has been a home for me on so many late evenings
I'm overwhelmed that it's been released...I hope it helps so many people
We all love you. Whoever you are. We love you

I love how everybody was having different conversations and after he starts signing a couple words everybody becomes silent on a key knowing okay this guy can sing. This is gonna be magically

I just performed this at my school in a concert, Sam is such an inspiration to me. I listen to him every single day, it makes me feel at peace. The best artist of our generation by far, he helps so many people and i hope he knows how much people respect his outstanding talent.
