Hi Stephen , As an older fan whose first game was in 61 , so i just missed Duncan , but my Dad raved about him , he called him the perfect footballer , i think it is great at this time of year , that the young fans like you and full time devils crew are keeping the memories going . thanks again Stephen you bring a tear to my eye,

The English oppo fans that chant "munich" at us don't realise that they would have been bragging about a few more World Cups instead

First thing my grandad ever mentioned to me about United was Duncan Edwards. Said he played like he invented football

The only time I ever cried at a football match was watching Duncan play - I just couldn't believe anyone could be that good.

Got the book for Christmas and it's fucking fantastic!

As an Arsenal fan who saw him play back in the day, I can categorically state that Duncan Edwards was the greatest footballer of all time. Nothing he couldn't do and I'm not ashamed to say that I cried when my mum gave me the sad news that he had succumbed to his injuries. A colossus.

I've never been to Manchester, people would call me a glory hunter and from their perspective I wouldn't blame them. What they don't know is that it's this history that makes me love the club, not just the trophies. Excellent video, keep it up Howson.

As a kid from Chicago I never really watched soccer as a kid, but one of my best friends is a huge Manchester United fan so I started watching at the 2014 World Cup and I kept watching United after and I saw the Manchester documentary on Netflix and I always wondered if Duncan was really that good or just hyped up because he died so tragically and so young. This is great I’m glad to finally be able to put that to rest in my head. I’m always paranoid when thinking about players maybe being overrated because of tragedies or they played against talent that wasn’t as good but I’m glad to know atleast Duncan Edwards is a real one

If Duncan Edwards had survived would have been an England choice in 66, would Bobby moore have been captain or would Bobby More have played in 66 world cup final. Duncan Edwards was untouchable, the power the pace.

I was born in 1959 so I obviously missed the disaster and what would have been seeing the greatest player to ever play football - Duncan Edwards. My grandfather, just like your own Stephen, cannot even mention his name without tears streaming down his face. He said ''he was the greatest player you are ever likely to see or hear about in your lifetime'', and he was a life long Hartlepool United fan. The stories I have been told have been echoed by James, who have basically said that if Duncan had survived England would have won the World Cup in 1958 and would probably have been on a treble by the time 1966 came along and Bobby Moore would not have been the player hoisted onto the shoulders of the team, it would have been Duncan Edwards. His story and that of United is what made me become a United fan and my earliest recollection of following United was the 1968 European Cup Final when I was 9.  It was such a shame the video kept breaking up but you could plainly see how much James, even as a Cardiff City supporter,  loved every single second he spent writing the book. I have to say that many people have asked me why I am a United supporter especially when I lived in Scotland for over 40 years and I say "The Busby Babes and Duncan Edwards and everything that came after that including Best, Law and Charlton''

As a United fan of 30 odd years, i can't help but get choked up every time i hear about Duncan and the rest of the babes. I literally Well up

As a West Brom fan I understand how upsetting it is. Yes he was older and maybe not as good but Laurie Cunningham died at 32. He still had his pace power and grace. I can’t imagine what it’s like to lose not only one world class player but nearly the whole team. The good thing is that united have built on this. I went to the Albion Southampton match recently and there were tributes for the legend Cyrille Regis and the players that were there like Robson, Brown, etc. would’ve down better now then the players on the pitch.

Thanks a bunch Ste, this is much appreciated. #neverforget

BHailing fro the town of Duncan Edwards birth mysef,. Makes me PROUD to be a Dudley man. RIP Big Dunc. You were THE GREATEST EVER

Everyone buy this book so the guy can get better internet!

This was a good insight to the man! Pity about the connection!

Could swear these two had dial-up internet, the amount of times connection broke.

Duncan's legacy shall live on! #Legend #GloryManUnited

I've always heard of Duncan Edwards...truly he could have been greater than Pelé. We were done hard by that event in Munich that year

So stoked to watch this it's almost midnight here in California and I have work tomorrow but damn. I am so excited to hear everything you and James have to say.
