Direi che i soldi bisogna guadagnarseli..ma questa è una visione antiquata, immagino.

You are trying something really challenging. Make sure you consider everything. As an italian who escaped Italy to get the lifestyle I dreamed for my family, I see a lot of enormous challenges in front of you.
As an Italian yourself, Matteo, you will know the economic state of Italy, that work in Italy is equal to slavery and that salaries are not meant to build savings. At the same time Italy has a pay as you go system for pensions and the forecasts show that a 30 years old worker will have a retirement age closer to 70 with a pension of 50% of their last salary (if the current system doesn't collapse before).
At the same time services will decay in the next 20 years and public healthcare will become unbearable for the nation's finances.
Contribution to these issues is the low natality, the high average age and the low work productivity. The governments are doing literally zero to tackle these topics, choosing instead to give useless una tantum bonuses, which increase the enormous public debt.
Also, you plan on build profits on investments to cover your future expenses. Again, Italy is the worst place to do that, with a 26% tax on capital gain. And in addition to that Toni carries her student debt, which is not meant to be repaid with italian salaries. Also as a US citizen she would pay taxes in US as well, right?
I have many more doubts on the feasibility of your plan, and I am sure you are considering these challenges, I do not want to break your optimism and in any case I wish you good luck.

Hmm, I would think very carefully before moving to Italy as Italy appears in many lists of the worst countries in the world for black/white couples. Here on Youtube I follow a black lady from the USA who lives in Italy with her husband and her two children and she said that Italy is not good for black/white couples and she planned to move out of Italy because of Italy culture of racism. She also said that in Italy fascism is still very present in Italian society and in Italian mindset. I think the USA and some other European countries are much better than Italy for black/white couples. Whatever you decide I wish you good luck and God bless you.
