Somewhat contrary to the title of this video, Cody Ware is DEFINITELY NOT the worst driver in NASCAR...not even the worst driver to make a Cup start this season, in my opinion. But, the data does support the fact that he is the worst full-time Cup driver right now, even accounting for his subpar equipment. There are plenty of worse drivers in the O'Reilly Series and Truck Series right now, but since he is on the biggest stage, Ware often takes the most criticism for his underperformance, so in this video I wanted to give some realistic criticism while also highlighting what Ware has achieved in his 12+ year NASCAR career so far.

Cody Ware is closer to Denny Hamlin or Kyle Larson than we are to him.

I’m reminded of a quote I read about Lance Stroll,

The skill gap of Lance to max is smaller than lance to you.

This probably holds true for 95% of the population and Ware.
I raced karts nationally then modifieds and late models and I’m not sure I could do better than what he is doing with no sim, no real help and a tiny budget. I try and remember that when thinking he is a garbage field filler.

In all fairness, Cody Ware has significantly improved on the Superspeedways. At some point, he finds his way to the front in those races. I think his 1st Cup win, either going to come at Daytona or Talladega could be coming sooner than we think.

He’s definitely not the overall worst NASCAR driver anymore either, far from it now (I don’t think he’s that bad now). That label would likely go to either Natalie Decker or Kris Wright.

Cody has massively improved himself as a person, one of the nicest guys in the garage, same goes for his brother Carson, I'm proud to call the Ware brothers friends

RWR is still a step behind sure and my personal belief if that Cody hasn't had the proper testing and simulation time to really understand what he wants out of his car, I think he can be better for sure

The only time that 51 actually finished in the top 10 or 20 was when Justin Haley was driving that car. Maybe he should have stayed there.

He did just had a solid day at Daytona.  Fuel strategy kinda screwed him in the end, but he was legitimately competing up front for a good chunk of the race.

I think if RWR had kept Justin Haley as the driver of the 51 they would be more respected now. Probably getting better finishes, maybe even finishing ahead of a couple cars in points.

Cody could have won multiple races now if he was in a hendrick car

I mean as of recent he's been just finishing races which is what they need. I also like his support for mental health although he has had some controversies.

I think James Davison, David Ragan, and Joey Hand deserve props for some good runs for them. Also, the time in 2014 they almost won a road course

I was expecting McDowell to win Talladega last fall. I was there.

I still remember to this day what sealed that AsLMS LMP2 Am Championship for Cody Ware was an literal act of God which was one of the in class rival teams effectively burned down and were forced to withdraw from that season finale weekend for the 2019-20 AsLMS season

I was at the 2022 summer Daytona race I remember rooting for Cody Ware and BJ McLeod after that wreck still blows my mind they didn’t put the caution out
