実は、貨物列車の存廃の方が影響が大きいので、沿線住民＆自治体だけの問題ではないが、知らない人が多いと思います。
貨物列車の為に旅客列車では必要の無い、電化設備や路盤強化をしていて、経営を圧迫しています。
（北斗市は置いといて）トラピストと木古内以外で時間潰せる所ないんだよなあ・・・
一度降りたら１時間来ないから気軽に途中下車も出来ないしね
芸備線みたいに「必要な路線」と言いながらＪＲに丸投げで乗らない金出さない…っていう状態よりは健全だと思います
これなら税金で赤字を補填しながら維持するのは許されますよね
