waiting for the "i bought a leica" video by next year

So this video is annoying... because now I'm going to need to buy another new camera haha! Great work, brother. Unreal seeing you smash it.

This and the m5 to me are the most underrated Leica’s.

When you feel the camera jam hold it upside down and on the rewind/tripod area give it a couple gentle slaps (sometimes will have to do more then once). Helps it drop and sets everything back to place. Hope this helps any Leitz CL/Leica CL/Minolta CLE shooters.

I forgot where I read this but what’s so cool about 35mm lenses is they have about a 1.1-1.2x field of view meaning if you are 5 feet away from your subject your horizontal field of view will also essentially be around 5-6 feet.

If u dont mind spending some money, you should find a repair shop to check out the curtain problem and do a CLA. Amazing video❤

Very nice photos dude. This was very helpful, I am about to get myself one of these CLs after 30+ years of Nikon cameras :)

i feel like youre getting to that leica stage of 'ill just use any m-mount lens cause the body does fuck all but drain my bank account so ill use some old soviet thing i like the feel of' and spend the money on 2 good lenses. Welcome to the journey mate!

canonet>leitz>leica, it’s just a matter of time now 🕰️😆 love that shot @ 1:25 dude👊🏼

I have the CL. your take up spool is broken. It’s supposed to be a full cylinder, not just half. Very common issue. I think you can fix it with 3d printing

After loading the film. Advance one frame. Slowly spin the rewind knob until you feel resistance to take up the slack. Capture that burn frame. Advance one frame and the rewind knob should move.

Love the lumon hat

Great overview of using the CL. I have had mine for a few months as well, but once you learn the little quirks, it’s so fun to use.

I was looking at this camera but since I only shoot 28mm I decided on the Bessa r4m instead

I use mine with the Voigtlander Heliar 40mm f2.8, works well because it matches the frame lines and is very small. It has a characteristic look, which I like. The rewind not turning at the start of the film is a 35mm film thing that can happen with any camera, after getting the start of the film into the take-up spool I put my thumb on it and turn the rewind crank to take up the slack. Then it turns from the start of winding on. I have to do this on other 35mm cameras too.

LETS GOOO🔥🔥, keep up this content.

beautiful

looks mint,,, gotta get one

Awesome bro! I have the CL also, just the Leica branded 250 jahre edition and i dealt with the same loading issues as you. I also got the 40mm summicron c with mine and actually use it on my m6 and m10 quite often which i got the m6 not long after getting the CL. Awesome shots and video on it man

If you take a few shots and think it might’ve been loaded improperly- before opening it up try turning the rewind lever. If everything is ok it will turn a bit and take up slack inside the film canister but will eventually offer noticeable resistance. You can then try advancing the film and seeing if the rewind crank turns.  If it spins freely for a number of revolutions the film isn’t anchored to the take up spool. Just be careful not to rewind the film all the way back into the canister, especially if you don’t have a film retriever tool.
