The Amazon version is the clear winner. I think for $200 savings, I could find a screw elsewhere.

Ideally, you wouldn't want either the press nor the frets to be affected, but that's pretty much impossible. If you're pressing two metals one is going to give, and I think that one should be the tool in this case. I reckon the point of choosing brass is that it will deform before the fret does, protecting the fret which is the more important element since it's the piece that goes to the customer. So I guess all three did fine.

The Amazon one is definitely the sweetspot, as far as the home enthusiast goes.

Good comparison. Told me what I needed to know.

The StweMac one is now on sale, therefore the price went up to $289. My biggest issue I see for all of these, is that they are not wide enough. Especially true for those of us making wide range, multi-scale, fan frets, and 7-10 string guitars. It's as if they need 1-2 more bridles. I'm now tempted to buy two of the Amazon units and Frankenstein them out, to make one wide enough.  Great video. Thank you for putting in the work.

Why didn't you show the $20 one pressing in a fret? Your vid was to compare all three, but you only compared two.

Yes, normal for brass....brass is a VERY soft metal.

Stewmac prices are absolutely ridiculous 😂😂

Bro so chill I sometimes fall asleep watching these late at night after work lol (might be hittin the j too ngl but you got a great voice on that mic with that backing is nice). Great video. I'm just starting off so it's good to know what kind of budget I'm going to need and being ok with when it comes to building from scratch. I'm not sure what path I'll go with fret pressing because I plan to do stainless steel outside of the diy flips i'm working on now, getting experience on the finishing side of things.

Like with a brass drift that becomes mared with use. As long as the material being pressed is harder the marks are of no importance

I bought the $45 one on Amazon and I’m glad I did not disappointed at all

Thank you for doing this.

Thanks for showing!

Your videos are so dang entertaining. Excellent. The one i liked the most was the Pearson Hyper B video. Thanks!

Great job Mark!

Thanks man 🤘🏼

That's normal for brass. They all seemed to work but at $20, its cheap enough to throw away after one refret. The Amazon one looks good for a half dozen refrets. It would be interesting to see how the StewMac one holds up. Maybe a long term fret..

Great again!

J Edwards instructional videos encourage multiple light presses across the fret

Great comparison mate, think I'm gonna buy some small steel washers and see if I can take the slop out of my chinese version 😊
