It can't be understated how influential Rodney was to skating. Legend status doesn't even cover what he did for the sport

The Rodney VS Daewon skate vids are the greatest skate vids ever made. If you haven't seen them, watch them.

Broski literally redefined the sport as we know it today

I was so influenced by Rodney back when I used to skateboard. I have watched all his videos SO many times. Truly a savant on a skateboard and a kind human being~

Wish I had the inner voice and strength as a 1st gen skater. I had absolutely no vision, just reckless self indulgent behavior.
Mutt is and was a beast. Genius at a level that was hard to comprehend at the time.

He didn't break every rule, there were no rules. He made the rules.

As someone with AuDHD, Rodney and Andy are utterly inspirational.

Genius is used so flippantly these days, but this guy was on another level, truly another level ! When you see him skate it’s fluid, precise and on point………. There’s not enough superlatives to give Rodney , a true legend of the sport !!

Rodney is not only the greatest street skater to have ever graced the world with his pure awesomeness but he is also just an amazing human being.
He is the kindest, most humble, down-to-earth dude on earth. I have had the pleasure of meeting him, twice. Two of my all-time favorite memories that I will cherish as long as I live.
(Yeah, I'm glazing Rodney up and I have ZERO shame about it.)

Had the chance to skate with Rodney a couple of times, once in 86 and then again in 87 when he came through Atlanta. One of the coolest guys I had ever met for sure. Epic skater without the Hasoi style ego. I was 10 the first meeting and he taught me to kick and heal flip. Legend!!!

I got the skate with Rodney Mullen about 30 years ago, and he was about the nicest guy you could ever imagine and absolutely incredible on that board.
