Crazy to think she juat did this shit as a woman in a male dominated field with barely any experience, even watching films. She saw a handful of movies in her life before being a documentarian. Me as a male videographer who has seen so many movies and have seen so many videos to learn this craft shutters at the thought of spear heading a documentary. Its a very personable job. I truly think film knowledge is extremely unimportant compared to how you are with people, your motivation, and creativity.
I have so many interests, film being one. I have recently started going down the rabbit hole of the French New Wave, and after reading a little bit, I am drawn to Agnès' work. I barely know anything about her, but I really like her. I have the Criterion channel ( get that if you don't have it, it's awesome ), and I think tomorrow I am going to watch her 1976 film, Daguerréotypes.
