Most riders don’t think twice about rolling over a tree or other up-and-over feature on a trail—it’s just part of the ride. And some can ride an A-Frame or spine in a skate park. But what happens when you start pushing the limits of how steep that A-Frame can get? How steep is too steep? We built a progressively steeper A-Frame to find out just how far we could take things and find the limit, while trying to stay safe. It’s an exercise in skill, balance, and a little bit of physics.

As a physics teacher and mountain bike rider, I love this video. An interesting fact is that as far as gravity is concerned when you get to 30° you are actually at the 50/50 point. The 50/50 point by distance is 45° but the actual acceleration 50/50 is it 30°. Just a little side note for any kids that want to build themselves a ramp. 30° will give you half the acceleration of gravity. Please. No nerd. Hate

Great video, very fun to watch. But what I wanted to highlight was my utmost respect to you for realizing where your limit was and stopped there. You knew you didn’t have to prove anything and you kept things where it was still fun. If at least one person learned this by watching you, you made the world a better place!
