Your comments about intent are so right on! This is authentic music, like bluegrass, like gospel, like all music which arises through social and cultural movements, like the real, natch´al blues, as Taj Majal would say.

The music of the Grateful Dead is another example of this, the voice of another important social movement from the 60s which was an authentic expression of the social rebellion of the time and the dream of a better world.

It is this authenticity which makes it important to us. We can feel it deep in our soul.

Thanks for that!  I was at that concert. Outstanding! Greek Theater, Los Angeles,  maybe 15-16 center rows back from the stage. Of all the original Wailers (Marley-Tosh-Bunny Wailer), Peter was always my fave, even though Marley is most remembered. Tosh's album, 'Equal Rights', is a classic. Also. check out Bunny Wailer's album, 'Blackheart Man' (AllMusic 5star rating). The song, 'Armagideon" is mesmerizing!!
