We go to Selami Ali Neighborhood, one of the historical streets of Üsküdar, Istanbul, and embark on a very special discovery. We visit the mysterious cemetery where figures who lived between 1850 and 1920 and changed the course of history are buried. One of the most important stops on our visit is the grave of Muallim Şemsi Efendi, the founder of the Şemsi Efendi School, where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk took his first step towards modern education. We bring to the screen the grave of Atatürk's teacher in Üsküdar and his life story, stretching from Thessaloniki to Istanbul. At the same time, we examine the sad and mysterious tombstones of the families of Thessaloniki origin (residents of Bülbül Deresi / Selami Ali cemetery), which shed light on the socio-cultural structure of the period. You will witness a hidden history stretching from the late Ottoman period to the Republic, accompanied by photographs, symbols, and inscriptions on gravestones.
