Really, always check if the “master” is ethical. Rocks are not expensive regardless whatever the seller says. Remember they are sellers, sales is the only thing they care about, not you.

Truly agree that if person having a good heart, do good things, as he/she always exhibit good energy, so naturally have good fengshui.

Vice versa of person do bad things, jealousy, greed, anger, etc. He/she always exhibit bad energy, so naturally have bad fengshui

In a way having knowledge (aka wisdom), teaches you to avoid mistakes that could arise from bad temper, poor habits, and false words (gossiping). By avoiding these actions of bad merits, your good merits would not be overshadowed. A lot of people tend to think that doing good deeds can cancel out bad deeds but, the reality is seeing which one outweighs the other, tipping the overall positive/negative direction in life.

Dark wall make the room very dark without turning on lights in the day. Even window letting sunlight in isn't enough to brighten the entire room

I heard from another fengshui master saying "一命二运三风水四积阴德五读书"
读书也是改变命运的方, so studying/investing in knowledge is also a way of changing your destiny!

Not sure if this is the correct answer, but 东南西北 is clockwise direction and maybe start from 东 cos the sun rises from the east?

To use salt to remove negative energy. The correct method is just salt in a bowl or salt + water in a bowl/glass? Anyone can advise?

Fengshui got many many school so using the correct application on each aspect is important. Many so called modern fengshui "master" learn from multiple schools and they don't even know which application to use on each situation.

Chinese especially those old master tend to say 东南西北 as that's what their master usually teaches them. Modern masters or especially those English educated may be more comfortable saying North South East West due to the English language education system.

There is no conflicts so use whichever more comfortable for you. I tend to say 东南西北 more because that's what my master taught me. But 3 years before i choose to be his discipline i actually paid money to learn from grandmaster and multiple popular master who offer classes. I choose English class as i am more familiar with English and they teach me North South East West. Once i learn the skills i am also Chinese thus know what each word means i can directly tune to it without worrying if i am speaking Chinese or English.
