Thank you Ebun Oluwa for exposing some of these hidden conflicts on the many peripheral Islands of Lagos particularly in the Badagry axis. The Lagos state government Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Local government affairs needs to step in to nip these conflicts n the bud so as to ensure that these issues are resolved on the community level.

You reminded me when I was walking on the Sene-Gambia beach The faster you walk on the smooth fine sand, the quicker you would be sinking.
The Ibeshe  community must stand firm and together.  The Intruders were merely attempting to grab their land.  Soon they would be calling themselves as Real Estate investors.  Brilliant efforts.

I think if you want to know about their culture, tradition and festivals, you’ll have to ask the traditionalists not bishop. LOL.

Thanks Ebunoluwa. What the man said is true. 2011 I travelled to the Volta Region of Ghana, Ho, in particular. The Ewe people who are in the land claimed that they migrated from Ile Ife.

From what I see here I think the colonial map is one of the things causing this confusion. Maybe just maybe their root will be linked back to the Ewes in Benin but because of the colonial map they had to be separated from the ewes in Benue

The ewe people are mainly in the coastal areas in west Africa . There are ewe from Ghana down to Benin  Republic and this is not my first time to hear about the ewes in badagry but what I’m yet to know is if there are originally from badagry or they originated from the ewe in Benin

This man is absolutely correct, the Ewes are found along the coastal line of Ghana 🇬🇭 volta region - Aflao, Lome in Togo, Cotonou Benin 🇧🇯 republic Lagos Nigeria. This group of people called Ewe in Ibeshe are part of the Yoruba ethnic group, they authentic Nigerians. They should be recognized and left alone in peace to live their lives without any disturbances. The Ewe people are originally from Ile-Ife, very peaceful people who love to live in peace and harmony with others. However i will Ebun to change your headline from "they are Ghanaians to Nigerians. Thank you for your efforts in shining more knowledge on various rural communities for educational purposes.

Prior to viewing your video, I was unaware that the Ewe community has a primordial presence in Lagos, Nigeria. Historically, they have been systematically marginalised and potentially isolated by their larger riverine neighbours, who, interestingly, may have employed 'authority backing' to demonise them as foreigners. Regardless of their status, they are entitled to justice and respect for their fundamental human rights. The history of Lagos often neglects the Ewe people, rendering them vulnerable to the apparent impunity of their neighbours. This conflict seldom receives attention from mainstream media outlets. The Ewe community must resist systemic isolation and should be more deliberate in narrating its own story. They might consider engaging a public relations firm capable of disseminating their narrative both locally and internationally. Many individuals remain unaware of this conflict.

Good job. When narrating stories like what this man said, always say "according to them/him..." so that you're not seen as being biased. People on the other side may watch your videos too and use your words against you. Well done, Ebunoluwa.
