Remastered documentary: Los Alemanes del Llanquihue - Remasterizado

Between 1820 and 1914, ten million Germans left their country in search of a better life. A handful arrived in southern Chile to try to overcome an unexpected natural environment. Cold, damp forests, swampy terrain, and gray skies forced the new inhabitants to make herculean efforts. Over the years, the Germans of Llanquihue settled in their new homeland. Laurel, lingue, and alerce trees became houses. The hillsides filled with homes and churches. Llanquihue, Puerto Varas, Frutillar, Quilanto, and Puerto Octay grew.
