The Shirakaba bus connects Morioka and Kuji. It looks like a highway bus, but it's actually a regular route bus that doesn't use highway bus routes.
I thought that since it's an intercity bus, there would be fewer bus stops, but there are quite a lot. I boarded the bus while checking all the bus stops.

偶然だろうけど本日東北地方で震度6の地震が発生し、このエリアをまたしても襲うことに…。

葛巻町は町内に鉄道も高速道路も無いようなのでこういうバスがライフラインになってる感がありますね
久慈から新幹線駅までは二戸行のスワロー号の方が所要時間が短くてメイン路線ですが、白樺号は途中、休憩があったりと変化にとんだ路線です。
国鉄時代から1999年までは急行扱いでバス急行券が必要という、珍しい扱いがありました。
