IIRC the "feast" wasn't supposed to be representative of real Indian food, it was an indication of the moral corruption at the palace.

The thing with jumping out of a plane in a raft, MythBusters did it on a Hollywood Week, fully expecting to show the ludicrousness of it. Then they spent a hell of a lot of time backpedaling and doing research, when it turned out to be relatively easy, as long as the raft stays balanced and doesn't flip over. It turns out to be the exact same way squirrels and housecats can fall from incredible heights without injury. By spreading the weight out in a wide surface area, they increase air resistance and reach maximum velocity within a blink or two. So every fall lands at the same speed as a very short fall, as long as they keep balance.

Her : oh no the chickens.
Me: sitting back and waiting for the bugs

Just to let you know, Temple of Doom is actually a prequel, which takes place two years before Raiders of the Lost Ark. The next one, Last Crusade is truly what happens next.

"Hang on, lady, we going for a ride."
It's such a perfect summary for this movie.

It makes me so mad that we got Shia Labeouf and Fleabag but no grown up Short Round teaming up with Indy again!

Interesting fact: the bug scene was filmed in London so the bug wranglers had to import different species into the country for filming. Apparently, the wranglers sucked at their job and a lot of the insects escaped, still causing problems to this day.

Kate Kapshaw, who played Willie, later married Temple of Doom director Steven Spielberg.  She had a slog in Temple because Willie was written as annoying and unlikeable.  I think Nikki's first positive reaction to the character is the first positive reaction I've ever heard.

The name of the club at the beginning is a great Easter egg.
Club Obi Wan

This was Ke Huy Quan’s first acting role. He was accompanying his younger brother, who was actually auditioning for the role of Short Round when he was encouraged to try out himself.

A Nikki Lu reaction video has become prestige viewing for me! Your reactions are just so funny and pure.

Seeing Ke Huy Quan imitating Indy in the background makes me want a spinoff where Short Round becomes a swashbuckling archeologist to carry on the tradition

"You call him Dr. Jones, doll!"😂😂

Did you notice,  the British man who they met at the airport, who set up their escape - was  Dan Aykroyd  most people miss that its him,.  They also miss that the club at the beginning is called the Club OBI WAN

It is also easy to miss that this is technically a prequel, set in 1935, a year before Raider of the Lost Ark, thats why there is no Marion

My favorite line reading is when Indiana said "We are going to die!!". Always makes me laugh how Harrison delivered it

I love how quick she caught that Captain Blumbertt was Delbert Grady from the Shining

13:42 Its suppose to show how the palace was so infected with the curse of the Kali that the inhabitants ate the most ridiculous things as if it was normal food, even the British captain said this was an unusual cuisine.

This girl is a national treasure in movie reactions 😂

I've seen this movie countless times since I saw it in theaters as a child when it came out and I have never once thought about the chickens.

Ke Huy Quan was one of the "boat people" who risked everything to escape Vietnam. Imagine how different the movie would be had his family not made that dangerous journey.
