Next to the banks of the Mississippi River is the Delta region, a land that feels removed from America. A distinct culture with a turbulent history... home of blues music and some of the warmest people in the world. Join me as we get lost on a road trip and learn from the ground up from the locals what this part of America is like.

Thanks for watching! There is a certain magic and mystery in the Delta region that's hard to explain but hopefully some of that comes through in this video.

The Mayor getting in touch with the Dollar General to build a store speaks to his ability as mayor. Good for him! He clearly cares about his community.

I live in Germany. I love your videos because they are the mirror of people, culture and country. No drama, no fancy music, no special effects. Only people and country that talk for themselves.
Thank you!

Peter, your documentation of america opens our eyes that we do not have a racial divide in this country. We have a class divide. Which in most places disproportionately affects black people. When we have communities like this of impoverished white and black people they are all in it together.

Peter, I know you won't see this comment, bur if you did, I want to say that helping that woman with her balloons for her moms death was super beautiful man. That's a great thing to have done. Really proud of that part of you.

Being from a town like Alligator, MS, I'm glad I made it out. I read books to occupy the boredom of growing up in an improverished town. Graduated high school, graduated college, got a career, worked in corporate America for 10 years, moved to California, started and maintaining a smoothie business. I've always had to work twice as hard, but I made it, coming from a 37 year old black woman, I always believed I could despite my environment and basic resourcecs. Never give up!

RIP to the gentlelady that lost her mom. I lost my mom suddenly too but she was 56. Love your parents while you still have them. Don't wait until it's too late and they are no longer around for you to love on them.

I'm a lifelong New Yorker who's barely left here. These videos feel like an outlet for me. They also make me extremely grateful. I complain less about my insanely high taxes when I see a town that strives for a Dollar General Store.

if yall ever wondered why the blues started in mississippi and has the most prominent blues singers, its because they've always had a different type of struggle...and that struggle is one of the many things that made the blues great

I love how the gentleman in Alligator with the walker finally caught up with you down the road, truly speaks volumes of the size of that place!

You should be on every PBS network along with every History and Discovery channel in the country. The general public needs to see your channel content.

I love how the nice people he speaks to …they talk to him like they just invited an old friend into their home. Love it.

The gentleman in the passenger seat with glasses and orange T-shirt deserves a raise regardless of how much he makes. Well spoken, eloquent even. Most of all HE GETS IT. He has a motivation behind what he’s doing. He’s not just interested in a paycheck but understands the long term big picture of the livelihood for his town. And he’s working towards that!

I grown up in a small town in Russia where i've spent first 17 years of my life, left it almost 20 years ago and now, watching these series i feel some unusual nostalgic feeling to the people and the places which i never knew and have never seen before. These all looks so familiar to me and reminds me about how similar all the people around the world are, how they dream for their homeland to prosper, how they trying the best they can for their families. I wish more people in Russia would see and know the real life and real people in US and across the world. This is the only thing which could help us solve unnecessary political contradictions. Thank you for the job you are doing Peter, not only for your country but also for the people outside.

My dad grew up in Shelby. He took me there to see his parents ( my grandparents) graves when I was in my early teens. He was shook when he saw how the town looked. He passed away a few months ago, I wish he was still here so I could show this to him.

One thing about us Mississippians, were content in what we have, and were accustom to this way of life. If you notice how everyone talks and moves slower, we like to stop and smell the roses. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I love my Mississippi

Brit here. We love the South & our favourite was a trip through Holly Springs, Memphis, Natchez & followed the Mississippi down to New Orleans. Mate, you have an affinity, respect & such a beautiful connection with these communities. Your love oozes and I just hope your country appreciates that it’s black, white & every colour in between who just want the chance of a decent life in their home towns. 🇬🇧🇺🇸❤
