Almost 30 years ago... I remember watching it on TV like it was yesterday.

One of the best women’s tennis matches, an iconic rivalry, plenty of drama for the spectators, the highest level of tennis, two very different and distinctive styles, and the epitome of sportsmanship! The golden age of tennis 🙏🏻

Which player ever defeated all the number ones and top contenders consisting of: Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Monica Seles, Jennifer Capriati, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, Martina Hingis, Jana Novotna, etc.? I respect all of them, but for me Steffi is definitely the GOAT.

I was a line judge on this match loved every minute happy days 😊

Both grateful at the end of the match. No bullshit, no ego, no anger towards each other, maximum respect towards the opponent, and smiles after the match ends. An example for current players.

Steffi's forehand and shot selection are just master class!

Those were the days when the intensity was purely on the match and not abusing racquets or the umpire

Missing the old days. the women games were fully equipped with the strategies, ball placement, footwork not only the powerful strokes. Classic games.

My favorite Steffi era

what made Steffi so tough to beat aside from that forehand,   her leg work..  she had great movement on the court...

No show, no comedy, no endless hugging, no instagram fame, just pure focus on the game... Graf/Sanchez-Vicario as a perfect microcosm for how much better these days were!

Remember those days of simplicity and class

Another thrilling Wimbledon final by the great Steffi Graf against the tenacious Arantxa Sanchez Vicario.  That second to last game in the 3rd set resulting in 13 deuces (32 points played) was so dramatic!  My goodness what a tennis match between two champions fighting for the Wimbledon title!!!

It was Steffi’s will and determination that earned her a 6th Wimbledon crown 👑 and her 17th grand slam victory!!!

I wish tennis was still played like this.

That match made me a tennis fan in 1995!

Excellent Match. Ladies tennis of today is just boring compared to the past

Steffi is always at her best in every tennis tournament.

Amazing how great tennis was during their era. Miss those days. Can’t and have stopped watching tennis especially Women’s. And once Federer, Nadal and the Croatian are gone, that’s it. The beauty of yesteryears players were their personalities and variety of style. Nowadays everyone seem to play the same style. And the noise! So off putting.

Not a big Graf fan but I loved how fast she played in between points. No going to the towel for a three shot rally.

These commentators are very insightful and helpful for anyone who plays tennis.
