Got a job at a coffee roaster!
I mentioned you and James Hoffman in the job interview!

I love the puck screens.  So much cleaner and never worry about a stuck puck

Fascinated by the guy in the back. Sort of a glitch in the matrix kind of thing.

I think a puck screen is really important if you want to keep your machine clean, especially if you don’t have a high-end machine with fancy water flow and pressure control. For sure not necessary but for peace of mind for the future.

I gave my espresso machine to my barista granddaughter. Too many bells and whistles for this 74 year old lady! 😀 I got a moka pot, easy peasy. 💖 I really enjoy your show.

great tierlist - I would like to add that many espresso machines, especially on the cheaper range, dont come with regular baskets - only pressurized ones. getting a regular unpressurized basket (and usually you also need a new portafilter to fit the new basket) is practically nessecary to get the most out of all the other techniques you mentioned, like wdt and a good grinder.

The bottomless portafilter actually helped me a lot in the beginning! The shots weren't tasting great and I didn't know why because I was so new to it. But then I was able to clearly see uneven extraction due to my uneven tamping and channeling; I fixed that and the shots were 10x better. Plus, when you get it right, it's so beautiful to watch lol

- Got my Cafelat Robot as a present

- Lots of coffee
- Made my first Soup style of espresso

1. reading

1. Moved across the country to Chicago
2. Started a new full remote job
3. Taking advantage of working from home to make more coffee and explore latte art

Love your presentation style! Clean, to the point and enjoyment of your topic! Always seeing ‘my’ grinder (Philos) on your counter!

Thanks for the video once again. Currently in my Rorschach phase of latte art. I make something, show it to my customers, and ask them what they think it is. Whatever their answer is they are always correct. Tips have greatly improved.

Perhaps some nice coffee cups, you will probably be really proud of your attempts and will want to photograph them and hopefully invite friends to have a coffee so having cups you are proud to serve in is a great one. It is amazing how much the feel of a nice cup elevates the experience too.

Hey Morgan!! I thought of you when I signed up for my barista class, and now my certification is arriving next week!! I’m so proud of myself 🥹!! I’m here to thank you for giving me the motivation to start the class in the first place! Even though I can’t be as cool as you, just like I thought when I started taking classes(lol) it was a unique and fun experience I would never regret! Thanks a bunch, I’m a big fan ☺️

Compost them grounds! Saves having to clean out and make room for another thing, additionally it makes stuff that’s good for your plants.

6:32 want to clarify that by 10th of a decimal, she means 10th of a gram. A lot of scales say they do 10th of a oz which is not useful at all for measuring espresso.

dude that said "i'm single" is locked in a basement for sure

Welcome back Miss Eckroth.... We missed you...

hahaha. My Italian father used his Gaggia for 40 years - perfect shots, no cafiza, no minerals, no wdt , no funnel - all gadget junk.

Puck screens are also great if you have a cheaper espresso machine. Those often have a rather poor water flow and can damage a well prepared puck, so adding a puck screen can easily solve this issue
