You used a video I created when I worked at Tsuburaya Productions. And your thumbnail is from a pamphlet I created. Thank you. I worked for Tsuburaya for 15 years.

I was actually depressed along time ago that time i was hopeless and on the verge of oofing myself, and then my friend introduce me to ultraman, i started watching the original series and quickly fell in love with it, the series is the only thing keeping me entertained on my darkest day on my life, ive now come to normal again after some therapy and what i want to say this series has helped me alot time flew fast now the franchise is like +60 years

You can't avoid comparing Uktrmaan to Twilight zone because Ultra Q was Japan's answer to Twilight Zone

Perfect video to watch after Ultraman Teo's first episode just dropped

26:06 There's a reason why a lot of fans were surprised that Ultraman Teo's transformation device is a single object that looks like his Color Timer and it only does lights and sounds. Tsuburaya was on a really tight budget during the New Generation era that a lot of us were fine with them reusing monster suits and going full gimmicky as long as they got the funding. The episode increase during the Ginga to X and them finally getting the full half year run alone was a massive achievement.

I think Ultraman is one of the three objectively best kaiju productions of the Showa Era of Tokusatsu, alongside the original Godzilla film and Ultraseven. Enjoyed the video!

For anyone who is curious in Toku, Ultraman is definitely a series you Shuwatch.

i was first introduced to ultraman via shin ultraman

1:10 Eventually, in 2006, Tsuburaya release Bio Planet WoO, and was said to be a successor to the Ultraman franchise. But it only ran one season with 13 episodes, and not many people remembered the series.

I remember having some of the toys from Ultraman back in the day and I rewatched the reruns a few times as well.
Have fun at G Fest I hope you have a great time.

I watched ultraman reruns here in the philippines in early 90s (after the original ultraman, they aired ace). Starting from ginga, i felt the charm of ultraman left. Mebius, tiga and the first 12 episodes of 80 are my favorite.

The creative machine behind Ultraman is not easily matched. It reached the youngest of us in the 70's reruns. So inclusive: Men, women, youth charectors...

The Virgin Godzilla : Humans are awful and evil!

The Chad Hopecore Ultraman : I love humanity because you are different but filled with the love and hope of a better world

Contrary to your claims, Arc has a good study of both found family, AND the power of imagination. It's more than JUST monster of the week...

A most excellent job!
Accurate and tells no lies.
Godzilla movie reruns were a regular occurrence on TV on the weekends here in the States
so the desire for Kaiju was already there.
When Ultraman hit TV it was an instant hit.
Batman and Star Trek had the American audience wanting more.
The 60's and color TV were a trip.
You nailed it.

-Gen X who grew up on this

Ultraman series always is the best tokusatsu ever !!!

The monster graveyard kaiju episode is my favorite episode in the original series.

You have this scary looking skeletal kaiju that’s on a rampage just like the kaiju of previous episodes but they’re’s a reason it’s on a rampage.

The poor thing is in constant pain and isn’t built for earth’s environment.

It’s just confused and in a lot of pain and is normally peaceful.
He just really wants to go home.

Poor guy never asked for any of this and yet all this was forced onto him.

Plus unlike other misunderstood or mistreated kaiju like Gammora the skeletal kaiju actually survives and is sent back home to live out the rest of his days in peace.

In the end the episode had a happy ending.

Never, ever apologize for collecting what your heart wants.  Some collect baseball cards, autographs, otbers collect star wars action figures.  I collect skateboards from the 80s and 90s.  Its a bridge to our youth.

I first learned of Ultraman in the wake of the original Star Wars when nearly every company seemed to react, "There's gold in them thar spaceships!"  An Atlanta based independent station, Channel 17 WTCG (later evolving into the powerhouse known as TBS (Turner Broadcast System, not to be confused with Japan's TBS) aired the series early on Saturday and Sunday mornings, around 6 AM.  I can't recall if it was just a single episode each morning or 2 "back to back".  Given the time slot, I often missed it.  WTCG offered a far more lucrative slot for the the another Tokusatsu series, "Space Giants", at 4 PM weekdays, just when kids were getting home from school.  The strongest memory I of the show involved the Science Patrol attending a formal dinner, a kaiju is spotted and Hiata dashes outside to transform.  But instead of his Beta Capsule, inthe panic of the moment, he whips out...a spoon!  I dunno, that just tickled me no end as a dorky 15 year old in 1978. 🤣

Just thought you'd like to know, Cole, it's "Mix-yez-pitel-ik", and his name backwards is "Kel-tipz-yex-im", according to DC Comics.
