"Do you wear trousers?" Omg I choked. And the Londoner  . ."I should hope so". Gold

I am so delighted to have found this!  My late grandfather, Nathan Ladenson, was the first challenger to appear on this episode of the show. He was a London taxi driver and beat the panel as you can see.  In the 1990s, I made it my mission to try discover if there was a recording of this. The TV production company who owned the series at the time found the archive recording and made me a copy - they didn't charge me as they said "if we had to charge you it would need to be a fortune". They were pleased that my very unwell grandpa would have an old memory ignited.  When I sat my grandparents down to watch the video as a surprise, more than 40 years after What's My Line, they simply couldn't believe it.  My grandma was in the audience and grandpa was in the show - as far as they were concerned it went out live and that was that. Never to be seen again.
What a joy to see that it is now available on Youtube and can bring more happiness to our family.

You can really feel arlene’s and bennet’s absence ...panel is not the same without them.

Notice how professional the people look and act.

Kilgallen and Hedda Hopper share a panel? That's a lot of Hollywood secrets in one room!

Mr. Andrews has such a pleasing voice and such a pleasing rhythm in his speech.

Ozzie & Harriet probably came closer to being like their on-screen characters than any other acting couple. Both are lookers in their own right.

Hedda Hopper was so funny and she seemed like a nice person and what a handsome son!

Dorothy looks great in that dress!

William Hopper Jr (1915 - 1970) was Hedda Hopper's only child.  William was Perry Mason's Detective in the iconic Perry Mason TV Show.

I know it's not training in the sense of academic work, but it's a shame that the London cab driver wasn't recognized for his study to acquire "The Knowledge"--a detailed mental map of streets and places in London. I don't know if it's still required in these GPS days, but back then every cabbie had to pass a rigorous test on The Knowledge before getting a cab license.

even at 6 yo in 1956 we watched Ozzie and Harriet every week!!! with ricky and david. their very very cool sons! ricky ofcourse became a genuine rock star! 🌟🎶🎶🎶

Eamonn Andrews had the most spectacular hair! 😍

I think this would be a time I wished WML was in color to see how red Dorothy Kilgallen's hair is.

Hedda Hopper was a monster, was a big proponent of the Hollywood blacklist...

After watching about 50 of these episodes I've just started reading the comments—and now I regret what I've missed. Maybe I'll go back and watch them again.

I thought Ozzie and Harriet would be recognized by their distinctive voices, but they did a great job in disguising them!!

❤️ Hedda Hopper’s hat.

Ozzie was born in 1906 making him 50 years of age here.

Dorothy looks stunning!  Hedda is such a card.  Loving Eammon so much and hope he continues to make appearances.  I'm working my way through the episodes.
