Please, Mikael, or anyone from the label, if you're listening: PLEASE RE-RELEASE THE BONUS TRACKS FOR BLACKWATER PARK! It is downright insane that "Patterns in the Ivy II" and "Still day Beneath the Sun" were only released on one pressing and then never again! It's been 25 years!

"The riffs would be tighter". My goodness brother Mikael, those riffs from Blackwater Park were the tightest shit i've ever heard in my life and still are today 25 years later!

I still remember the moment I first heard Opeth and this record.

A few friends came over, piled into my car, grabbed some beers, and we just drove around the streets of my hometown. One of them had a few burned CDs with all kinds of music on them. Those CDs ended up staying in my car.

The next morning, I was cleaning out empty cans from the car, and one of those CDs was playing. I wasn’t really paying attention to what was on—until “The Leper Affinity” came on.

I was like, what the hell?! What is this?!

I immediately called my friend and asked what band this was. He told me it was Opeth, and the album was Blackwater Park.

I drove straight to the nearest city to buy the album, and while I was there, I also picked up Still Life.

An incredible experience—and an even more incredible album.

Being robbed at knife point by an accordionist is a fantastic anecdote.

Steven Wilson's production and let's be honest some co-writing really made this album stand out more. It was an amazing idea to get SW to help produce the album. Even at that point PTree were just a little unknown band.
