GOD this was so fun to be a part of!! thank you so much for having me! the animation, mix and construct of the song itself absolutely blew me away, and i'm so so so so honoured to be here :)

i love how small and fake the scenery looks, it really sells the weirdly artificial aspect of hometown that is highlighted by the weird route

I love the part where she says "You don't know who Kris is". It's early into the song and the buildup towards it is vague. It feels like a sudden stab right through the player's facade.

Holy crap is the line “Kris… isn’t it funny how the punchline just missed me?” referencing to how Kris before chapter 4 tried to calm down Noelle by saying it’s all some stupid prank the actions they took in chapter 2?!?! Holy mention by Noelle

"I can say with confidence you don't know who Kris is" is such a biting line

When she said "You don't know who Kris is", i noticed.
We don't know NOTHING about Kris apart from the narrowed down informations we can get from the game.
We're pretending to be Kris, and we are not that good.
The only reason everyone else didn't noticed it was because Kris was not very social.
But Noelle know, and...when Asriel comes back...what will he think?
If even Flowery could notice, their own brother wouldn't?
The point is, when Asriel will eventually make his comeback, he'll notice.
He'll notice how we're not Kris.

This is exactly how i imagined noelle's voice btw

drink all
the water ♥️              proceed
in the lake

Sometimes I genuinely wonder how horrified Kris was during this whole scene and how powerless they were to stop this

I like how the 'only then, can i commit?' line can also be read as a suicide allegory.

"I can say with confidence that you don't know who Kris is" ✍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

* I see two lovers staring over the edge of the cauldron of hell.

* Do they both wish for death?

* That means their love will end in hell.

* I couldn't stop laughing.

1:33 "Isn’t it funny how when you convince me only then can i commit?" 🔥🔥🔥

this feels like it should be in a deltarune musical

I know this is probably not the case, but it’s still a fun coincidence anyway.

The line “I knew that I had to move forward,” could be viewed as a clever pun on the Japanese side of Deltarune. The translation used for “Proceed” in Japanese is “前進”, pronounced “Zenshin”.

The way “前”, or “Zen”, is used here can be interpreted as in front, ahead, or directionally forwards.

Then you have “進”, or shin, which in this specific spelling means to proceed, advance or to make progress.

Mash them together and you get what could easily be just translated as proceed. But taking in mind the core parts of “前進”, and you get what would be the closest and most literal translation of it.

“前進”, To move forwards.

Obviously this just a crackpot crazy theory, but it’s still cool in concept.

2:42 NOOOOO DONT PLAY LOST GIRL PLEASE DONT THROW THE BRICK AT MY FACE

Rhymes flowing so hard they make me want to drown in them 💀

Kris.
Isn't it funny how the punchline just missed me?
This isn't exactly what I had in mind when i presumed humans down to their design had a difference,
but you are different,
just from a distance,
and I can say with confidence you don't know who Kris is
because you're different,
just from a distance
you know when i'm toeing the lines
and when i'm lining the borders amidst darkened sky and I'm addicted.
I'll be your witness.
Dess.
When Dess left, I knew that i had to move forward down the corridors and horrors in front of me
so, begrudgingly
I took my stand
and wore my face
and stood in place .

Kris.
Isn't it funny how when you convinced me only then can i commit?
And when I cannot decide what to do
I'll leave that choice to you
Say the words,
and I'll spread my wings and fly
to the other side of the lake

Kris, say it. (PROCEED)
I know you're different,
just from a distance,
and I can say with confidence you don't know who Kris is.
But I know i want this,
because i'm addicted
so i can say with confidence that I can tell the difference.

I love how the typography for most of the song is indeed in "The Other Side of the Lake". But the only exception is her talking about between the time between the Dessappearence and the start of the Weird Route. Because it's the only time she's really thinking of her current life and not the promises of going out of bounds.

I used to be revolted by Side B only doing it out of curiosity. By chapter 5 I realized... I want this, too.
