How far will people go for land?

In John & Joëlle vs. The Mennonites, filmmaker Mildred Roethof follows climate advisor John Goedschalk and his ally Joëlle as they investigate reports that ultraconservative Mennonite groups are moving into Suriname’s rainforest.

From Belize to West Suriname, this documentary uncovers a disturbing pattern tied to deforestation, closed communities, intimidation, and the fight over land, climate, and the future of the rainforest.

What is at stake is not only forest.
Not only land.
But lives. Generations. And silence itself.

Watch now and decide for yourself.
