Presenters:
Sebastian Vanderzeil is the Director of Strabo Rivers and an infrastructure economist with over 20 years’ experience advising governments and utilities on investment decisions, regulatory processes, and business cases. He specialises in translating complex technical and policy issues into clear, practical decisions and actions, particularly in infrastructure and water-related sectors. He was part of the formation of Resilient Kurilpa and is an active member focusing on key issues including insurance. Sebastian currently supports Brisbane Body Corporates to develop flood management plans.
Dr Paula Hardie specialises in strategic design and visual communication for community-led approaches to climate adaptation projects. She played a lead role in the development of Resilient Kurilpa’s award-winning community engagement initiatives, including the delivery of workshops, webinars and tools. Paula’s practice-based doctoral research and ongoing professional work centres community-led disaster resilience, including supporting neighbourhood-based resident groups to develop disaster plans.
