Very important for a beginner to count aloud and voice the particular rudiment when applying them until it is subconscious and muscle memory takes over. Therefore the natural feel and rhythm will be felt when playing a groove as well as the fill without them sounding like two different pieces Frankensteined together.
I really enjoy the style of this video, it's easy to follow, very engaging and the concepts were presented in a way that was not overwhelming or confusing, I love it! :)
Ik the point of this video is basic how to input a fill but a general rule of thumb is have with drum set is focus on time because if ur playing in an ensemble then ur the source of time for everyone so if u r uneven then everything else falls apart
Then add in a fill and feel the groove in the fill and don’t overplay
Really helpful tutorial! One small suggestion: could you also mention the American note value names alongside the British ones (e.g. “quaver/eighth note” and “crotchet/quarter note”)? Not everyone is familiar with the British terminology, so including both would make the tutorial easier to follow for international viewers. Thanks!
