Spent my childhood here since it opened. We would picnic all day, swim and rent a boat. Later, as a young adult I would camp and hike. I haven't been there since the 80s. A favorite place.

Been there many times , one time while fishing we saw a black bear swimming across the lake with 2 bald eagles flying above . Thank You .

HELLO POP'S ,THE SOUND OF WATER NEVER GETS OLD,LIKE THE FLOW GOING INTO THE RESERVOIR. THE CRAB COULD VERY WELL BE FROM THE LAKE .THERE ARE FRESH,BRACKISH SALT, AND LAND CRABS.THE LAKE ALSO HAD NICE VISTAS .THANK YOU FOR TAKING ME ALONG LOYAL AS ALWAYS LARRY.

Nice lake I’ve taken my granddaughter there several times. From the beginning of the PCT heading north to this vicinity, I hear, is one of the most rugged areas of the trail.

***Manmade, Silverwood Lake appears to offer so many functions... It's *part of CA's water, supply system. It offers hiking, recreational areas, gorgeous views, some wildlife, and basic amenities.

I have camped here a few times. It can get very crowded in the Summer. Never took a walk around the lake like you did. Nice to see the lake from a different location.

Have you ever been up to Hume Lake? My sister and I used to attend camp there back in the late 60's early 70s. Would love to see the area again.
