another interesting What if is, Rose doesn't survive 'Parting of the ways', Jack isn't abandoned, and you get a couple episode of Jack and 9 traveling, with the focus being Jack dragging the Doctor into adventures to cheer him up.

I would like to think that in this alternate universe The 9th Doctor regeneration would be him remembering all the companions he had (Jack, Mickey and finally Rose) and his last words would be "Rose?" And finally he regenerates, not only would it be sadder as he never got over Rose death but it would also reference The 5th Doctor regeneration

This would have broken the 'companion never dies' trope that has infected New Who in the first series and would have improved it no end. Imagine a scene in The Angels Take Manhattan where a very aged, frail and dying Amy Pond tells The Doctor she had a long and happy life after she was sent back in time by the angels.  It would have made a much more powerful ending

this makes rose's leaving much sadder, Rose's departure just wasn't very sad to me but this is actually much sadder in my opinion

9th Doctor was my favorite when I was a kid, but since he regenerate, I was disappointed, however since David Tennant came he became my most favorite.

And yes It was sad and I was thinking, what if he never left?


I had a feeling Donna Noble Personality would have act differently, if she was with 9th Doctor.

Definitely continue this alternate timeline of Tennant picking up from Series 3 onwards.

After seeing how Ten died from the flood in Turn Left, I wonder if that was if Eccleston was originally gonna be Tennant at that point. Even though I grew up with and loved David Tennant, I can’t deny how much Christopher Eccleston deserved to have had stayed for Series 2 or even Series 3…

yo rewatching, would love to see those alternate series 3/4//specials also just thought it would be cool if the 9th Doctor was shot by a Cyberman or Dalek in Doomsday, held it off for the rest of that episode, then in the Runaway Bride taking place seconds after he's about to essentially while yes he was dying anyway had and could of held it off for longer commit Suicide Regeneration

But then Donna arrives and he stops then at the end as Donna gets on the Tardis he Regenerates into Tennant who I don't think would act like the 10th Doctor we know as his personality was meant to be Roses dream man, maybe he'd act like Donna's Dream Man, or Best Mate or hell just Donna herself or the 10 we know would still be just a different reason

I love davids doctor but this would of been a way better series 2.

I could not see this happening as David Tennant is a great actor and I could not see Christhoper Elston playing the tenth doctor because David Tennant suits the tenth doctor much better

Wait how did Nine regenerate again in this alternate universe? You said Donna got Nine out, what happened? Did he drown like the doctor did in Turn Left? Except something in Nine made him trigger the regeneration before he died?
