What a beautiful design on this plate!

I found your plate building demo last night on Pinterest (the one preceding this video) and tried it today in class. I wish I'd found you two weeks ago, instead of trying to throw them. I'm not going to be able to get all the matching dinner/dessert plates (16) ready in time for my midterm critique, but these ones I do have done are going to look great. they're setting up now, and I'm going to work on the design tomorrow - just have to decide on a color palate for them.

I've watched the very end of this video about six times now. I sort of wish you didn't speed that portion up, because the design you made is just gorgeous. After I do stencils, I guess I never thought about simply outlining them but it obviously becomes incredible.  Also, looks like I need to buy a new color of Stroke & Coat! :-)

Dental pics work well, as does using a cricut vynal cutter for a more perm stencil.

Thank you so much! I have never seen stenciling done. Very inspiring , I am currently using slips and I believe this would work with slip as well so long as my stencil is sturdy enough. Do you foresee problems using slip instead of under glaze ?

If you do a kind of amorphous design and don't worry too much about any underglaze that may sneak under the stencil, could you just leave the paper in place and have it burn away in the kiln during bisque firing?

Less is more. Loved it before you added the silver. The silver was fine but I really think you over did it. Now the pattern is very crowded and your eyes don’t flow from bottom of plate to top of plate because there’s just to much for your eye to focus on now.

But other than that, it was a nice way to use a stencil. Thanks for sharing.
