At what point did everything start looking worse than before? I want to believe I'm just getting old and it's my nostalgia for the past, but something tells me the issue is much deeper..

Did I hear this right??? THIS is what won a design competition with 18 proposals??? I cannot even begin to imagine ...

For the first time in the automotive industry, a car brand with an incredible heritage, legacy, and history is having an identity crisis. This is not art like Jaguar used to be; the design feels forced in every aspect. It’s not effortless, it tries too hard to be different and abandons its identity on its way.
The ergonomics of the interior are overlooked for the sake of making the car look unique. The user feels left out in the cabin by this cold and unwelcoming interior. No one would want to associate their image with a car that struggles to find its own identity.
There is no room for a quirky car with a cleaving design language and subpar technology in a world full of exceptionally engineered Chinese cars with immense value for money, a huge amount of technology, and more acceptable exterior/interior designs. Elegance isn’t about being noticed; it’s about subtle yet harmonious and effortless beauty.

Such a shame they didn’t continue to develop the iPace to make it more efficient and reliable. They gave up on it and left loyal Jaguar owners with bills of many thousands to fix its multiple issues.

The way they made the front end and the new badge look like a Chinese copy of Jaecoo is the most impressive thing about this vehicle.

Absolutely hated the marketing. But surprisingly not the car! Love the bold silhouette and the overall presence.

Well it is like the imaginative drawings AutoCar did some years ago, and like the later concept. People are talking about it, so they were absolutely on point. Cheers to you Jaguar well done.

The guy from Jaguar sounds like someone from a designer clothing Advertising/Marketing Department rather than from an Automotive Design Department.

Good to see Jaguar pushing styling forward and innovating with battery design to secure that ultra low roofline. Way more desirable than the Ferrari.

Nice to see Steve Cropley asking the questions. I'm not convinced though by a lot of the Jaguar representatives answers though.

The  lack of a rear window would annoy the hell out of me , I prefer looking out the rear window when reversing .

The marketing team came out with a quote that proves this car will fail " in customer focus groups some have 9 or 10 out of ten and quite a few have 1 or 2 out of ten but we don't mind that" well you should no one should be happy with their new car getting 1 or 2 out of ten.

Let's hope. We need to wait and see it's road presence. It's more authentic to Jaguar design principles. Than any pastiche of the past.

On a simple practicality point, the boot is too small with a sill that is too high. When your given a clean sheet of paper this would seem an own goal. What on Earth could be taking up all the space under the front bonnet? However I like the overall exterior design.
