In this video, I dives deep into Cherry Audio’s emulation of the rare 1981 Gleman Pentaphonic—an obscure 5-note polyphonic synthesizer with DCOs and a 4-pole 24dB/octave lowpass filter. Originally limited to roughly 70 units in either a classic black chassis or a translucent green-board plexiglass frame, this rare vintage synth gets modern upgrades like full velocity control, key pressure mapping, sync, effects slots, and built-in motion sequencing. Watch as we explore its oscillator structure, unique low-fi sample waveforms (Complex 1 & 2), filter drive, and beefy polyphonic unison sound.
