I recently purchase Neewer dl400 camera dolly and discovered that the app needed a lot of work. It was very lacking and Neewer needs to fix that app so that it can do more functions because the Camera Dolly is capable of much more than their app allows. So I found a website that allows you to access more functionality out of the dolly and you can even get it to behave like a camera slider so that it can can go to a certain endpoints stop and then loop. Here is a video and a link to the website. I'd recommend watching the video first and then going to the website. You don't have to download anything but I would pin the website to your desktop so that you can find it quicker the next time you want to use it. You can even use your mobile phone under Chrome and it still works.

You can do the loop (ping pong) within the app now. It has the ability to set the A & B point under "AB" next to the manual mode.

I never bought this because of the lack of a "ping-pong" back-and-forth option. I was impressed with the payload ability. I would love to see a larger version of this built for heftier rigs and some pan options.

thanks for your review. I was looking for a review on this item a couple months ago and I was not able to find anything. At result, I ended up buying some cheap rc cars and the DL200. Thanks to your review I bought the DL400. However, for the price and the year we are in, I still find this item too overpriced (maybe the small market and lack of competitors create this high price?). For less money, you can get RC cars with Camera. If you add a couple hundred dollars more, you can get a drone that flies, can follow a trajectory with premarked points (gps), or follow you, obstacle avoidance, 4k+camera. Etc. Its great you were able to find that website to add some additional controls,. I honestly bought this thing as I need something to mount my insta360x4 to get a ground perspective. Again thanks for the video.

I have the newer version of DL400 and it has ping pong and different wheels. Everything you mentioned can be done with the app now.

I've just bought the DL-300 assuming the app would allow for a ping-pong feature (it's actually annoying you can't see a manual for the app features anywhere). I bought it to use on a raised platform between two tripods (like a slider), so I'm disappointed even before receiving the product, but this little hack gives me hope - thank you!👍

When I put an extender and then attached my DJI osmo pocket 3 it was very unstable, wobling alot

I have this Neewer DL400 and use it a bit, not a lot, just a bit in some shooting situations. What I really wish it had was remote steering via the app. Of course that would require a 3rd geared motor in the DL400. Not much to ask for an extremely well built device.

I got the Dl300 and the back and forth with no stop points is a deal breaker. If the added that feature just to the dl400 id upgrade tomorrow. Please neewer!
