One of my favourite feelings in a spike feeders video is realising the game is nearly over but the runtime isn't and there's going to be a game 2.

Me, 12 minutes into this video: "How in the world does this game last almost an hour?
Me, some amount of time later: "Oh."

Torbran and Ojer Axonil have a really strange interaction that often makes one of them redundant. When multiple replacement effects apply to the same event, the affected player decides what order to apply them in. In the case of damage, the affected player is the player receiving the damage. So an instance of 2 damage, say, would intuitively be upgraded to 6 with both of those creatures in play (2 bumped to 4 to meet Ojer Axonil's power, plus 2 from Torbran) but the players taking the damage can apply them in the other order if they choose, adding Torbran's 2 to the damage first (which would now equal Ojer Axonil's power and not be changed further). It works similarly with damage doublers, where the damaged players can choose to have the damage doubled first and then add the 2 more.

Edit: they literally covered this in the video seconds after I paused to write this. What a fool I've been

30:40, if you include spaces and the comma, Purphoros, God of the Forge is actually 27 characters long

I saw this a year before it was published.

"We're a little behind on filming today,
We're no longer behind on filming today"

absolutely destroyed me for some reason.
My wife had to come check why I was screeching in my office.

Happy 2026 Spikes!

39:45 - Bill actually gets 8 treasures. 2 from First Strike damage on Alex, and the 6 he properly accounted for.

I didn't know Jim even knew how to give someone the middle finger

YA SEE, A FEW YEARS BACK, ON A ROUTINE DIG FOR DINOSAUR FOSSILS, A LANDSLIDE BROKE OUT AND NEARLY BROKE MY LEG IN TWO. THEY HAD TO OPERATE QUICKLY, SO THEY USED THE DINOSAUR BONE I FOUND TO SAVE MY LEG. EVER SINCE, I'VE HAD WHAT THEY CALL DINO DNA. THE DOCTER SAYS IT MAKES ME STRONGER THAN THE AVERAGE JOE.

This is my best comment of the year!

I enjoy this channel very much.

“Oooh and he’s just laid down Life’s Legacy!” 42:40

9:40 Eliot shoulda asked Jim, "how many?"

Watching this in the past makes 2026 feel a lot like 2025.

Satya, one of my favorite commanders, energy is ok, but its more of a bi-product of attacking with him.

Having never seen Jurassic Park, I can only assume all of the impressions were 100% spot on.

The Jurassic Park gags were hilarious, great episode.

This is the best game i’ve seen all year

"None mointanspalk, left beef" was the joke I didn't know I needed. Thank you.

It would be fun to have a viewer poll on which bracket these decks fall in.
