Feeling unstoppable only to be sent back to floor 7 by Elphelt is so real dude

Dude given how well you play only a couple days in, the genetics from your dad show. You better continue this family line, your great great grandkid boutta go to evo

One mental thing that' helped me not get discouraged while learning is that the only player you need compare to is yourself yesterday. As long as you can beat your past self you are on the right path.

Your DAD IS ALSO A FIGHTING GAME PLAYER??? that's sick....

Man made more progress in 10 days than I did in 1 year

For an absolute beginner, you should be proud of your accomplishments. Jumping into a tournament full of higher level players a few days after starting, you did really well, all things considered. Love player progression vids, good content.

Not knowing how to fight Elphelt is the new to strive experience

Great video! I thought i'd just clarify what VIP means exactly for strive.
When you do well enough on floor 10, you rank up, just like any other floor. Except this time, it's a little different. You aren't automatically assigned to the floor above it, called celestial. You instead go through a "challenge", where you must win 5 out of your next 6 games in celestial. If you do that successfully, you become VIP until the end of the month.
The "VIP = top 1%" is a little exaggerated, but not far off. It's closer to top 5%-ish.
Because of this challenge requirement, the range of skill in celestial is VERY big. The challenge can be cheesed in multiple ways (including alt+f4 just before losing so the game doesn't count, only playing favorable matchups etc.). Trust me, there are a lot of idiots in celestial who got there by relying on 1 gimmick or knowledge check, and as soon as it stops working, the player just folds.
Also, the character level doesn't mean too much either. Just that a very high level shows that the player has played a lot in celestial. Apart from that, there isn't much information to be gained.
So don't get discouraged when running into VIP, or high level character. Treat every opponent the same way, and obtain information about their level from the first round/game you play against them.
Best of luck on your endeavors, be it on YT or in strive!

20 seconds in and I can already tell this is a hidden gem.

Hearing Town Inside Me slowly start playing got me so so excited. Brisket was the character that GOT me interested in the game and i clicked with her in game so fast, she's my perfect fighting game character lol

6:35 - He picked Bridget. He's a real Guilty Gear freak. He's one of us. Welcome, friend.

from bridget to testament. well, well, well.

Bro already gulped the E-pill

Fighting games are a very daunting genre to try getting into, and it always makes me happy seeing new players entering the scene with a good mindset and desire to get better! Out of all the advice for getting better, having fun and making sure you’re enjoying your time is the most valuable thing you’ll be able to do. Good luck in the future!

Fellow Testament enjoyer we love to see it <3 Very nice and entertaining video too, keep it up!

Genuinely one of the most entertaining ggst videos I've watched, instant sub

I played this game for the first time two days ago, and i only got it to play with a friend who had played the game for weeks before. The hardest thing for me to learn is that I'm being too hard on myself to expect perfection so early in learning, and add in my inexperience with fighting games in general, and it all starts to make sense.

My greatest opponent hasn't been characters or my friend. It was getting in my own head and letting myself get angry, causing mistake after mistake and getting angry at it, thus creating a loop of anger and mistakes.

So far, the game is amazing. I've been able to learn mix-ups and some of the fighting game's lingo. What I still need to work on is neutral game and not rushing in out of impatience. Sometimes, you need to play patience.

Bro planned it all out.
