Some mysteries don't stay unsolved because nobody tried hard enough.
They stay unsolved because the evidence was burned on purpose. Because
the only witness made a permanent decision to stay silent. Because the
statute of limitations ran out and the case was formally closed. Because
the one person who could answer the question in one sentence has simply,
consistently, chosen not to.
This video is about eleven of those mysteries. Not cold cases waiting
for a better detective. Doors that were welded shut — sometimes
deliberately, sometimes by accident, sometimes just because too many
years and too many dead witnesses got in the way before anyone thought
to ask the right question.
