🇵🇪 Cristhian Pacheco made history! The Peruvian long-distance runner conquered the 43rd Mexico City Marathon 2026 after a performance that left the African favorites without a response and once again put Peru's name at the top of world athletics.

In this 42.195-kilometer race, with more than 30,000 runners from around the world, Pacheco stayed with the leading group for much of the course. When many thought he had run out of steam, he launched a brutal attack in the final stretch and crossed the finish line completely alone with a time of 2:10:03, leaving Ethiopians Anbesa Lencho and Balew Yihunie behind.

His victory not only earned him the gold medal, but also a prize of $50,000 and a new chapter for Peruvian sport. Furthermore, he made history for his family: his brother Raúl Pacheco had already won this same marathon in 2013 and 2014. In this video, you'll see the moment Cristhian Pacheco accelerates with impressive endurance, leaving the commentators speechless and demonstrating why the Peruvian heart never gives up. A triumph that filled an entire country with pride.
