Had a accident on my zx12r 10 years ago and never went back to bikes, now looking to get a maxi scooter for pillion riding with wife.
We have been looking around wife got mobility issues so having pillion running boards is a must.
There isn't many scooters that have pillion running boards.
We tried a Suzuki burgman 650 and she loved it but the scooter felt big and heavy and I like to do my own servicing and the complicated drive system is a expensive time bomb if goes wrong.
We tried the Suzuki burgman 400 but it had pegs so we tried the earlier model with running boards and she was ok apart from the rider seat back support was in her way.
We moved it all way forward and she said it was better but not good 650.
We tried the BMW c400gt yesterday and that was her favourite of them all she said it was comfortable.
The problem the BMW is home servicing , it's more complicated with more tech and needing to plug it in to reset things.
I have run out of ideas now don't think there is anything else out there.
I brought a Haynes manual for the Suzuki burgman 400 and thinking the 2010 -2016 model might be our best and work the seat . Looking at the manual it seems ok for home servicing just pitty because liked BMW.
Anyway, good comparison review, I think you have saved me a test ride on the BMW, and just confirmed what I basically knew anyway, that the Honda is the better bike for me and my needs. I’ll probably just get another one and keep changing it every 2 or 3 years…ish ! Cheers.
However, the Honda is Made in Italy, and designed there as well, not in China, like the BMW and Voge. And the Honda is also very comfortable.

The chap who inspired my scooter switch later suffered an engine blow- up on an Austrian motorway with no help from BMW.
You didn't mention that the Honda is engineered by Honda and assembled at a Honda owned factory in Italy. The BMW is a Chinese built scooter with German badges.
