A late-night phone call… changed everything and sent me rushing home after hearing that my dad had been in an accident. That moment made me realize that when you live far from home, one of the scariest things is knowing that someone you love is in trouble while you’re too far away to be there.

Thankfully, my dad survived and slowly recovered. Since then, I’ve cherished every moment I get to come home and be with my parents, especially during Tet — the time when our whole family comes together and celebrates the New Year. ❤️

Tet can be expensive, but it’s so worth it… because it’s a time for family reunion. And as happy as we are when we come home, leaving again can be just as heartbreaking.

Hi Yen, I love this video a lot! It was nice to see your side of the family and the rituals you have during Tet. That's great to be handed wads of cash. About your Dad, he really has done well recovering from the first accident. As we age, things get tougher and probably why he had the 2nd accident. Hope he has a speedy recovery, just a few scratches on his face and the right arm. That was nice to see your brothers and I get it now on your Sis-in-law with the three girls and your oldest brother having the two older sons. It's like a piece of the puzzle finally put in their place. As chaotic as Tet seems, it does look fun as well. Oh boy, you hauled away some goods there at the end. Looks fun! Thanks for sharing. Hi Yen and Family, I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad’s accidents and pray his recovery is ongoing and that he feels strong again. I know as an older person myself once we have an accident by way of falling or however it takes us awhile to heal. It seems as though everyone had a great time at Tet and I know everyone especially your Mom and Dad was so happy to see your older brother. The food always looks good and plentiful. I love a train ride so I enjoyed that small portion of the train ride that you shared. See you on the next video my dear! ❤

What was the red thing everyone was eating off the tree? Best wishes for your dad’s healing. I do believe God protects. My son should be in Saigon around Tet 2028 getting married. He will officially get married to his Viet girlfriend in the U.S. but come to Vietnam to celebrate with the rest of the family. It’s 25 hrs of plane flight to get there so they come for 3 weeks.
