I dont think I'm forgiving RTD for this 💀💀

I should state obviously that's a joke, but it should serve as a valuable learning lesson to those running not only doctor who, but TV shows generally that when you are given a 2 season plan, do not plan your entire story around it being 3 seasons 😭😭😭

The more I hear about it the more glad I am they pulled the plug. Sounds like regardless of how it went, it wouldn't get away from the terrible writing, so cutting it early is a mercy.

There was so much that could have gone right and it's worth remembering that the stories that didn't rely on big pompous references to something Russell watched in 1973 or 1975 (or even 1985) were much better in concept. I have no argument about that. The trouble is, even though it's the Daleks, having seen what he did with some of the old 'big bad's' I would have been wary about their treatment. He always goes big, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.

I'm glad that original ending never took place it would have been twice as bad.

Blackpool funfair in the 80s - sounds like the planned 1986 season 6th Doctor opener, The Nightmare Fair with the Toymaker (novelised and also Big Finished)

I'm not an RTD fan so I'm so glad his 2nd era is over. The reason it failed is 90% down to RTD. He just wrote some dreadful episodes, The Doctor had none of the character's essential eccentricity, quirkiness or alien quality, the viewers switched off in their millions, the reviews and word of mouth were mainly negative, Disney bailed. Simple really. I'm already looking forward to w hole new version of DOCTOR WHO in late '28/'29. The idea of a whole new creative team with RTD no where in sight is music to my ears :)

"We were ready to go", in that context, sounds more like "We were all set to make these episodes!", not "We were ready to leave the show!", I think. I'm not familiar with "Rocks", so I was really hoping some British fans could explain why the Doctor in a "council estate in...Manchester" is apparently "the ultimate place to bring the Doctor"??🤔

Just a theatre kid ruining Doctor Who one video at a time 😂😂 Love ya, mate 🫰🏽🫰🏽

I probably have trypophobia so i recognised the name. Imagine as a kid having the same recurring dream where your skin is pock marked with loads of tiny holes and you can feel each and every one. I had an almighty scratch and itch when you were googling that. That might have been a tough watch!

While these sound nice, I can't trust what the results would have been like. It's very rare what you start with is what you get. I'm sure there were stories in the first 2 seasons that sounded much better than the results we saw.

But to be fair though, the entire rtd2 era was riddled with production problems left right and center and I don't think these scripts would have been excluded from that. Series 2 was obviously rewritten to accommodate for behind the scenes issue and even Season 1 had to alter to fit Ncutis time schedule. So however good these ideas for Season 3 might have been, they would have been undoubtedly corrupted by problems and probably even more than the previous season imo.

Out of all in time and space the Doctor could go to anywhere why does it always have to be Earth? Why not other alien planets?

@RalphsReads 6 minutes ago

Could’ve rogue been a bit like a new captain jack? Oh well we will never see it

@R_SENAL 2 hours ago

I blame the BBC and Disney. The BBC for making Ncuti's contract so strict he couldn't do other things while waiting, and Disney for not being good faith partners when it came to timely communication on their intentions and never even airing TWBTLATS internationally.
I don't know if Daleks can sustain 4 episodes back to back without a really old school pacing, but I like big swings and would have loved to have seen the show try.

Everything about this make me sad...

@vortexalliance9938 1 hour ago

It might have been a 4 part Dalek story but it wouldn't have been epic

@Leafonbreeze 1 hour ago

Why is 'Davies' off centre?

@RalphsReads 11 minutes ago

Such a shame we will never seen them but who knows. Could they have been like the previous two seasons but it doesn’t exactly sound like it. Seems a bit different and I would say better. Oh well, let’s see what happens next…
