I like how the scratch post works as a handle.

:) this reminds me of the quote "he loves me to the point of invention". It has made my day better to know you built this for your cat and that so many people in the comments are in the process of creating fun spaces for their cats too.

Thank you so much! my wife was very excited at the idea of a catio catbox for our office. Now I just need to make one.

I would put braces under the catico for support.

This was really helpful to see the basic structure. I know it’s not a full DIY but my window needs are different (mine is vertical, I need a cat cat door, etc) so I’ll have to make my own adjustments anyhow. This was great to start with some ideas for mine. Thanks!

I’m gonna do this for my future pet bird

This is really nice! But you might want to use 2”x3” fencing along with the screen, one is for bugs and the other for raptors. Yes, a hawk sees a cat as lunch. Also owls, eagles, coyotes on the first floor.

I’m thinking some sort of wooden bar lock to go from the raised window top to the top of the window aperture kind of lock the window shut. During the windstorm the other day I had a perfectly good window blown completely out of the house Hinges at all. So I’m a little paranoid about windows right now. One of the thing I would’ve done would be to put a cat door in your close it off door for non-temperate times. Looks nice I would probably need to use the extra large air conditioner frame to build mine on because most of my cats are over 15 pounds. :-)

This is awesome!  Great job!  Now I have a new weekend project!  Thank you for sharing!

Great Video! After searching YouTube tonite for an hour  to find the purrrfect catio build for my type of window...found your video and  instantly saved. Great job......!  I now know what I am doing this coming weekend......2 thumbs up!

Love this, been looking for a connector type bridge from my window to my catio. Wish I had a handyman to do this for me!

Thank You!!! Exactly what I want to build!

I need someone to show us step by step great idea tho

Wow, those cicadas were so loud 😮    Still getting used to them  since I moved to Indiana I’ve been here a year and man the cicadas got loud in the summer, not used to it  yet    Since I’m originally from Oregon I’m pretty sure Oregon doesn’t have cicadas        Neither did Colorado when I was living there for two years  before moving to Indiana   I seriously love this idea. I wanna do this for my cat at my apartment and since I got permission to do something like this, I’m gonna see if anyone can help me with this.

Im going to make one with a plexiglass  top. And build in a cat window door on the panel facing in. Then they can go in and out when they want

Nice job! There will be a small gap between the window panes. You could add a foam strip to keep out bugs.

Would you mind doing a step-by-step video? I’d love to do this, but I’m not sure how to build it or take the measurements.

Two things does yr cat have a friend cat to keep him company, he or she looks lonely, and the other, is the top part of the window resting on the cage should be secured? Cause of unwanted visitors going through the window above

Love this I finally found the perfect video for me to build.  By chance, why didn't you add something on the roof of the box to that rain won't damage it?

but where are the step by step instructions??
