PREMIERE. "SCOUT"
He's 23 years old. Call sign: "Maloy." He's from Omsk.
Maloy serves as a scout in the 417th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion on the Zaporizhzhia Front. Where a mistake can cost lives, and where you have to grow up much faster than you'd like.
His commanders—Bars and Orenburg—gave him perhaps the most valuable thing one soldier can pass on to another: experience. The kind of experience you can't read about in textbooks and that helps you return from a mission alive.
Maloy dreams of the simplest things. Family. Home. A peaceful life. And he grieves over the deaths of his comrades, with whom just yesterday he shared bread, laughed, and went off to fight.
The film "SCOUT" opens the second season of the "Notes from Donbass" project.
In 2024, this project was loved by millions of viewers. Now we're back with a new season—10 new films about young soldiers from various military professions: scouts, assault troops, sappers, frontline medics, air defense soldiers, and others.
I want this season to be watched, first and foremost, by those who think the current generation has grown weak and those who believe that today's events don't concern them.
Look at these valiant young men.
Just recently, they were sitting at school desks, entering college, and today, following their hearts, they carry out combat missions, retrieve the wounded, conduct reconnaissance missions, repel attacks, and protect the skies over their country.
They are very young. But they have more experience behind them than most people experience in a lifetime.
The "Notes from Donbas" project isn't about war. It's about the people who live through it. About a generation that grows up under the impact of shells, loses friends, but continues to do its job honestly.
Let's start with Maly.
"THE SCOUT." New season premiere.
Watch this film. And be sure to show it to your children.
Because the heroes of their time deserve to be known by sight.
Sincerely,
Author and Director - Nikolai Tsonku
