This classic film about a global icon is filled with beautiful moments from Cruyff’s glorious years with Ajax Amsterdam. Cruyff, one must admit, was a star who shone brilliantly from a very young age until he left Ajax to join Barcelona in 1973. Yet there is something that may easily be overlooked. For me, the most fascinating part is Danny Coster’s candid account of her husband, that Cruyff was a remarkably down to earth person who interacted naturally with his neighbors, never emphasizing his stardom. He could spend long periods patiently attending to fans of all ages. Cruyff seemed never to feel burdened in the slightest by his celebrity status. He truly enjoyed his life, both on and off the pitch. In another documentary released by FIFA, Cruyff explained his guiding principle, that spectators who come to the stadium must be made happy and entertained by the players’ actions on the field. A principle that appears simple, yet is deeply meaningful, especially when he also famously said on another occasion: “Playing football is simple, but playing simple football is very difficult.” In terms of fame, Cruyff at that time was comparable to the Beatles!

Even if i was the best football player around....i would not dare to wear a jersey with nr. 14 on it. That belongs to Johan forever.

Der beste Fußaller aller Zeiten, Johan Cruyff. Und der Erfinder des modernen Fußballs. Ich habe die WM 74 auf DVds. Holland - Schweden ,da sieht man die Spielkunst eines Johan Cruyff . Schnell, trickreich und der perfekte Flankengeber. Und er war überall zu finden, im Mittelfeld die Bälle verteilt und vorne seine Chance gesucht. Linsaußen und mit dem Außenriß die Pässe geschlagen. Für mich der perfekte Fußballer . Heutzutage gibt es nur Stars aber Cruyff war für mich der Professor im Fußball . Habe ihn immer gerne im TV gesehen und seine Interwiews gehört wenn er mal im deutschen Programm zu sehen war. Behalten wir seine Spielkunst und Ideen in Erinnerung... Ich habe noch ein Retro Trikot und den Film auf DVD. Danke fürs reinstellen und Grüße aus Dortmund !!

ik ben een meisje van 4 jaar in 1972 en ik woon in Rotterdam...maar dan al 'weet' ik dat de beste voetballer Johan Cruyff is (en Ajax de beste club😅)...Nu ben ik 56 en Cruyff is al 10 jaar dood...Maar nog steeds kan ik zo intens genieten van anderhalf uur oude voetbalbeelden bekijken..Al 100x gezien maar Cruyff verveelt nooit. Wat ie zegt, hoe die praat, wat ie doet en uiteraard als ie voetbalt❤❤❤ Legende

Ik heb zijn hele carriere in Nederland vanaf het begin meegemaakt.
Ik ging vaak naar de wedstrijden van Ajax.
Wat een ster en wat een sterrenteam.
Hij was echt de beste.
