"I can now smile" while not smiling and looking dead inside.

Man here. Born and raised, haven't missed a day. I've never called myself "honey".

There is no masculinity in this conversation.   It never entered the room.

We really need to tackle the mental health crisis.

As a man i can tell you this is not how men think or talk

She says she’s really happy but every time I see her in an interview post transition, she looks extremely depressed

“Love yourself” says the woman who doesn’t love herself 😢
The more I hear about Ellen Paige, the more I pity her

Ellen becoming Elliot is her letting her abusers win. She let them make her run away from who she was is the most extreme way.

Listening to her discuss masculinity is as insightful as it would be listening to a man discussing his experience of menstrual issues and his take on the experience of giving birth.

"As a lifelong woman, I feel completely entitled to speak for men about what masculinity is."

She is speaking to herself. She is trying to convince herself that she is a man and masculine because, deep down herself, there is a voice reminding her she is not a man.

You can see the confusion in real time as she explains she watches men and tries to copy them

did this girl just womansplain what being a man is like?

"Your entire identity is a response to your abusers."-----This is probably the absolute best way I think I've ever heard it put.

As someone who went through sa as a child, growing up it was hard to look at myself in the mirror as a girl. That was due to the fact that the parts of me that made me a girl had been tainted with trauma, guilt, and shame. Transgender propaganda further confused me into thinking I was "born in the wrong body" when in reality, I was just seeing flashes of horrible memories every single time I looked or felt at certain parts of my body. I can now say as a woman that we need to protect our children from abuse and confusion. I am still working on separating my body from my past, but it is a tough journey. I wouldnt wish this upon ANYONE'S children.

Edit: thank you guys for all the support and sharing your own experiences! I never knew this was such a prominent issue and its good to know we are not alone. I wish you guys the best, especially those who also struggle with this sort of trauma and confusion that always goes unheard of and unnoticed.

Being strong is not running away from yourself or changing yourself to an image you think would be better. Being strong is embracing what you have and what you are. I hated my body for many years because I was more underdeveloped as a teen and didn’t grow into my female body until I was in college. It was in college when I started to embrace my feminine self and embrace my subtle curves and love my body, even though I never had the boobs I was hoping to have when I got older. You embrace yourself as you get older and start to love the features you do have. It’s called growing, which will in turn, allow you to love your body and yourself.

She always seems so sad, always on the verge of tears, always uncomfortable. It doesn’t seem like this dramatic change really helped her at all.

Detransitioned woman here. My transition was a traumaresponse and being sucked into it through people telling me i was trans cause i was a very butch tomboy and am a very masculin woman. And Eliots words and gestures and honestly everything about her screams "im a woman". looks so unhappy and feels so disgenuine when she talks about her transition and how much "better" she feels now. I transitioned cause i was scared to live as a woman. (of course back then I totally fooled myself into thinking im a man inside or idk wtf i thought)

its sad. its honestly just sad. And its just wrong jow she spreads harmful messages to vulnerable people who buy her every word

You're precisely correct, as usual Amala. Traumatized people can't look at themselves in the mirror so they often make an attempt to alter their appearance as a coping mechanism.

When you love yourself, you don't feel the need to remove body parts.
