I have a secure government job.
And yet, I keep coming back to this farm.
Not because I’ve suddenly decided to quit everything and become a farmer tomorrow.
Actually, quite the opposite.
This video is about what happens when you have a stable career, but also have something else you want to build — something that may take years before you know whether it will work.
For me, that something is farming.
This is my family’s farm, and over the last few years I’ve started looking at it differently. Not simply as agricultural land, but as something that can be planned, experimented with and eventually built into a sustainable business. We’re experimenting with different crops and different time horizons — from seasonal vegetables and papaya to banana, mango, coconut, dates and mahogany.
And as an architect, I’ve started looking at the farm the way I would look at a site.
Sun | Water | Movement | Orientation | Spatial relationships | Long-term planning.
The result is what I think of as a diversified “crop portfolio” — where every crop has a different role, risk and time horizon. But there’s another idea taking shape here.
A farm-to-table café.
Not somewhere that simply uses the words “farm fresh” on a menu, but a place where the food, the land and the experience are actually connected.
And then there is the question behind the entire video: Am I actually going to leave my Sarkari job?
Maybe.
But not yet.
For now, I'm waiting patiently with an attitude of learning with every mistake i make. The farm gives me a place to learn. And the years in between give me time to figure out whether this idea can actually become something real.
I don't have the answer yet. And maybe that's the point. This is not a story about quitting a job. It's about building something before you decide whether you need to leave one.
If you're someone with a stable career but a completely different idea of what you eventually want your life to look like, I'd genuinely love to know:
Would you build the alternative first — or take the leap first?

I have absolutely no idea where this farm journey is going to take me, but I’m excited to find out.
Thanks for being here for the beginning. 🌱
