Maybe we can all work together here and purchase a small item form each other and leave positive reviews!!!

ebay hit me with 6% additional fee for below standard performance.
its basically stealing

One of the reps also told me when I called about my defect that I had had my store open for close to 90 days at that point in time and that was plenty of time for me to be familiar with all of eBay‘s rules policies and expectations. I was gob smacked. You have to be kidding me as a brand new seller. I told him that I felt like closing my store because I didn’t believe that eBay was supporting brand new store owners. There is so much to learn as a new store owner and I felt like that was a very Unacceptable response from him

I am paying 19% ebay seller fees. 6% increase because of Below Standard. The cancelled by Seller TDR  Really tore me up. Unfortunatly I have not been able to push myself int the 400 sales in 90 days so everything sticks with me for a year. I did not understand or pay attention to defects until too late. In retrospect I would suggest anything would be better than cancelling a sale as a seller. I have been Below Standard for 5 months now. I have not made any mistakes in that time. Nose to the grindstone and still Below Standard Highlighted in RED. So discouraging. Two of my cancellations fall off this month.July 20 I hope to be 2.0% or less. 2.01 Will lead to another month of gloom but the numbers are slowly headed back in the right direction.I have been selling since 2012 Sure will be glad to get out of Detention.

I've been on eBay over 20 years. This below standard just happened to me.October 2023. It's really not all my fault. 99 percent of my items I make, and ship the next day in a plain white envelope or a small bubble mailer. Lately people had been saying they haven't gotten their items so I send out another one. Occasionally  one may come back wanting more postage. The delivery on some was so slow one week I just closed my store because I couldn't take anyone else asking where is their item. If you get your bills on time in a white envelope why aren't you getting my item. Not to mention I was even going out of my way and taking them to the post office myself.  I couldn't figure it out. I even changed my handling time to 2 day handling. .. Then this past week I decided to not mark the item as shipped until the day eBay said it was the day it had to be shipped even though I had already shipped it. I am devastated by this like I said Ive been on here for over 20 years. Maybe I'll just close my store for a month.

Don’t often comment on a video but bloody hell thank you. I’m on this tomorrow

I hate ebays algorithms.  Wish we could just sell and not worry about this stuff

this was so helpful. Thank you loads for posting this.

Brilliant. So simple.Loved the presentation.Thank you.

This happened to me because I had to cancel two sales on eBay because they sold on Poshmark right at the same time literally like a day or two apart. I used Louis perfectly and I thought mistakenly that was perfectly would update one site when it’s sold on another. So eBay has put me in jail. I spoke to three different reps about this in the last three days seeing if I got different information or explanation or recommendation from three different people. One Said it would have no impact on my store however nothings getting viewed. The other said it would last 12 months and the third rep told me to never use that choice when Any sale needs to be canceled. He said to only use that option that says the buyer is canceling. I said to him, but isn’t that untrue because I had to cancel as the store owner. He said no if the seller contacts the buyer and the buyer agrees to cancel the sale, The seller should choose buyer canceled.

I just got hit with it today.  I had very high marks accept the fact that I canceled too many orders and I hadn't learned how to cancel a order without getting in trouble for it.  If that's even a thing.  I had broken and item and had to cancel it. And now I'm below standard for a full month

When i have an issue where i cant fulfill the order, i just send a cheap item to the custoner and make it look like a mistake. As soon as they message me i refund them and tell them to keep it. I used to ask the buyer to cancel, so that way i woukdnt take the hit but ive heard people saying that ebay is cracking down on that. Theres no way to tell if i genuinely sent the wrong item or not.

Just watching your  past videos George. I sell very occasionally I sell my own items. Usually about a month or 2 a Yr. I have 100% feedback. Get top feedback for my clothes and bags. Etc. I buy lots on ebay for family. I've been dropped down in dashboard.. Ffs I'm a private seller just selling what I no longer need lol.

Thanks:)

thanks George 🙂👍

Smart strategy!

I will bear this in mind if it ever happens to me great tips george

I'm in the same rut right now too. Idk what I'm paying them for them.

Going through the exact same thing at the moment. 5/6 items out of 400 in 1 year and I am now below standard and just an update to this video, eBay is now taking 5% additional fees on top of everything else… so about 20% in total when you are a business seller, plus VAT and obviously your own costs. It’s actually a disgusting practice at their end, as if they don’t take enough money from us. It really has hit me hard as my items are on the expensive side with small margins. Thank you very much for your video George, it has been really helpful! When you did the 99p listings did you just mark them as dispatched with no tracking? Will eBay allow those sales without tracking to be included in your overall performance. Thanks again!

The worst is BBE, my UK and Global seller status is Top Rated Seller but in BBE "Bad Buyer Experience" I'm non compliant, they're crazy. Don't ever sell in ebay, they don't care about you.
