Being a experienced traveler I'm shocked that you would leave a purse in a Uber. You cant even do that in the states.

who leaves their bag in an uber????????????/ in any country?

Just reading the comments- and it looks like you got your stuff back- but I definitely hope you use a bit more common sense while traveling because leaving your purse with a stranger is crazy; no matter what country you’re in.

"Donate so i can go to the carribean" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

He didn’t say “she’s an American tourist. How dare you?” 😂
He said: “There’s an American Tourist here.”
Girl please!

You told him you were ALONE?!!! 😮

Who leaves their purse AND PASSPORT in a car in a foreign country ?!!! Chile God bless your gofundme donations 👋

Sorry, Mary Jane I find this hard to follow. You’re an experienced world traveler, and you did all the things that a novice would do.

I am glad you got your belongs back. sorry you can't blame Brazil for this situation  i am sure  you wouldn't t leave  your purse  in a uber in NYC  should be more streetwise  by now.

It's a sign that  it's  time to pack up and leave. Listen.

2025, Mary Jane, Brazil, is a dangerous place to be by yourself.  I can't believe you left your purse with your passport in somebody's vehicle.  And just for the record, you've been traveling long enough to know better.

Sis you are to blame not Brazil! As a world traveler you should know not to leave your purse with your passport even for a second! In fact you should have a backpack or cross shoulder type of bag with all your passport, wallet and everything that’s important literally on your body every time you leave your hotel or Airbnb! This can happen to you anywhere including the U.S. if you aren’t mindful and leave your purse in a Uber or Taxi!  Hopefully you learned from this!

That was your fault for leaving the purse

You should have left after the first robbery!

Glad you got your purse and passport back, what a blessing.

Glad you got your stuff back....

Tip, Always keep your passport in your front jean pocket. This is convenient for you because you are a jeans person. Also, keep a picture copy of your passport on your phone or iPad.

Unbelievable

This seemed completely self-induced.
