How To Spin - Some Basics

I learned to dropspindle when I was a little girl, so spinning is new to me, but not new to me. A little basic operation stuff here, and some spinning basics too. Hope you find it helpful.

If you are interested in a wheel like mine you can find them here:

Places I love to buy wool:

Good luck!

I wish I had seen this when I first learned how to spin. You addressed some problems I still have. Thank you so much for making this!

I have learnt to spin on a kiwi 2 so this is great for starting to refine my spinning

Thank you so much! I'm a drop spinner, and have just bought myself one of those wheels.

Wow that is so awesome and cool 😎

I wish the kiwi still had the style of flyer you have on your model. The Ashford rep told me it's discontinued.

Toying with the idea of getting a Kiwi 2 wheel, I really like the idea of having a double treadle anyway.

You make this look so easy! I'm learning but am terrible at drafting. Do you have any suggestions?

Can you tell me how many ounces was that ball of roving you were holding?

this is very helpful. however get to know the parts of the machine. it is a bobbin on a flyer. not a spindle ????

Wow you make it look so easy i tried my first spin today and it seemed to twist up so tight all the time and break But it was fun not bad for a bloke rough as guts but i feel good bout it

I have and Ashford kiwi... But not a 2
Are they noticeably different? Is there some thing with the treadle? I got mine years ago and never really used it. I want to figure it out. I already know I was loading the yarn from back to front so that might have been one of my problems.
