Come back down for some bigger ones!  Hurricane Fredric went straight up Mobile Bay.! My house looked ok from the road 300ft. away.  After making our way through woven together downed trees we saw that only the upper rear wall was standing! A 9 ft, surge took out the lower floor and 3 tornadoes dispersed the top floor. Oh well, I never liked that carpet anyway! Camped in a Mustang with 2 kids a Sheltie and a guinea pig until it was rebuilt in January. You have to be flexible to live on the water down here. LOL  Our family can camp any place. We stay prepared.  This is home. My Mother lived on the island and the bridge blew away that year in 1979. Took 3 years to rebuild. You would have appreciated all the creative ways of crossing the water to get to and from home. We are survivors.

I can’t stress this enough check your home owners insurance before hurricane season or at least before it gets in the Gulf of America

Sally made land fall at Point Clear Alabama not Gulf Shores. You probably said that because everyone knows where Gulf Shores is. News said it would be a tropical storm but they were wrong
